Manhattan Luxury Pregnancy Shoot
This is a very special shoot for so many reasons. It was my last session before closing my studio due to the Covid-19 pandemic that swept the globe. NYC had not yet issued non-essential workers from closing but I knew it was coming and I wanted to get Kelly in front of my camera before it did. She felt the same way. With her session originally scheduled for a few days out I called her and asked her to come the next day. She had not done her nails yet or even prepared some of the items she wanted to bring. But she knew this was going to be her only chance. Lucky for us, I can fix nails in Photoshop and give her a more even tan since she couldn’t use her selfless tanner in time neither. It was a weird session since we all wore gloves and masks as an added precaution but it was obviously in the best interest of the client. I think it was an emotional session for both of us. I knew I would not be shooting in my studio for awhile and she knew this was her only last chance of freedom. She would not be able to have a baby shower or know when she can have family see the baby after birth. Kelly now has a images she can remember from a time that darkness was surrounding all of us she can find the light in this moment. This was one of those sessions I will never forget.
