NYC Baby Photographer
At the end of November I met baby Helena and her parents at their NYC apartment. It was a gloomy rainy day but that didn’t stop us from using soft girly colors for her session. I’m convinced the color peach was made for Helena. It complimented her creamy skin so perfectly. She may have been challenging at the beginning of the session and a light sleeper but that didn’t stop us from getting absolutely gorgeous images of her. Sometimes when a baby isn’t going to sleep you need to rearrange your set plans and do things that you know will work. In this case, it was time to wrap little Helena. Once she was securely wrapped, it was easier to place her in and out of different props while changing accessories until she was fast asleep and we can then move onto naked poses on the beanbag and other props. We had her wrapped in my wooden crate where we were able to incorporate her dad’s baby blanket and tuck her in soundly. It was so easy to change out the wrap and move her into the “potato sack” pose where we were able to get a few more variations before we went onto parent shots. With a sound asleep baby it was time to unwrap and get those adorable naked bum shots. I was a bit nervous she would wake up but with careful precision she stayed asleep and we worked our magic. Whoever said patience is a virtue wasn’t lying. Don’t you just love those cheeks!?
