NYC Newborn Photographer
This was my 2nd time working with this lovely family. I met them two years prior for their daughter’s newborn shoot. Now at the end of December I was back in NYC meeting the newest addition to their family, Alex. Even after following my prep guide this little one had no plans for sleep. I think he slept possibly 10 minutes during his entire session. His sister was the opposite and I never saw her eyes once during her session. I quickly wrapped him and continued to shoot. Not my ideal situation to photograph an awake baby because it limits the amount of poses you can do especially with props. It is important to be safe and know that an awake baby can only do certain things. Another thing to keep in mind is that its also challenging photographing an awake baby due to their lack of eye contact, however this was completely different. He acted like he was a one month old with direct eye contact and gave us some really beautiful shots. Also, after I posted this shot of him and his gorgeous mama it has become one of my most requested poses. It is definitely a go to pose now.
