NYC Newborn Photographer
Such a honor anytime I photograph a newborn session. These clients trust me to come into their homes and photograph their newest addition which in most cases are always under 14 days old. This time was especially special since Baby Amelia belonged to my former assistant Jeke. I knew Jeke from my days working at Calvin Klein. We clicked immediately over the hustle and bustle of the retail world and trying to find things that would allow us to get through our crazy hectic work days. The fashion industry is not an easy one and definitely not a place I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Well, anyways fast forward a few years and Jeke helped assist me on many of my newborn sessions in 2014. Being that we both came from creative backgrounds she was huge help with selecting color palettes and setting up sessions. This time around though, I wanted her to sit back and relax while I took care of all of that for her. She deserved to have her own client experience. She did mention she was planning on assisting for this session and I clearly laughed at her because there was no way I wanted to allow her to bend and assemble my studio equipment. Amelia was one of my sleepier December babies. She was pretty much out for the count from the beginning of the session to the end. We went through parent, prop and beanbag poses in only a few hours time. While posing, I was tortured from the sweet aroma of Jeke’s mom and aunt cooking dinner. At the completion of the session, they had informed us they were cooking for me and my assistant Jacqueline and that we must stay to eat. Well of course! I never turn down food, especially a home cooked meal. Meanwhile, Amelia was still sound asleep.
