NYC Newborn Photographer
My last baby for the month of August and preceding my big journey out to Burningman was little Harper. I say that with emphasis on “little.” Harper was a tiny peanut weighing just under 6lbs. She made her grand entrance 3 weeks early and was now an August baby instead of her projected September arrival. I arrived to their NYC home and was welcomed by an absolutely gorgeous baby with a dark full head of hair. Her mom requested ivory and pinks and we included just those colors into her session. One of her mom’s favorite poses is the potato sack which is also a favorite of mine. We started with this pose and used one of the cutest bear bonnets I have ever purchased. I don’t think the image could have been any more perfect. This was followed by a series of poses on an ivory blanket with pink accessories. For the prop we placed her in a vintage wooden bowl where she just curled up so perfectly like she was back in the womb. Babies under two weeks naturally curl and pose better than older babies which is one of the main reasons why they should be photographed in that time frame. We ended the session with parent shots where miss Harper smiled in her daddy’s arms. I would say that put the icing on the cake.
