NYC Newborn Photographer
Some mornings you fly into the city and others the traffic is unbearable. My estimated time from Brooklyn to midtown should be about 20 minutes but that is a rare occasion. On this morning, we were moving slower than a turtle and on top of that I stepped in dog poo so we were off to a great start =) Anyways I was able to meet my little client for the day, John. He was only 9 days old and not very excited for his session. He did not want to sleep for one second but I did my usual waiting and soothing and sure enough within a few hours we had a completed session with beanbag/prop and parent shots. Patience is really key! Sometimes clients can follow the prep guide I send from beginning to end and the baby is just not feeling it that day. We all get those days ourselves so its completely normal. I try to keep my clients relaxed though and start pulling out other tricks to either get some awake shots or wrap the baby which usual knocks them out 9 out of 10 times. In this case, John had to be wrapped and he finally settled into a nice deep sleep. We stylized the session with creams, browns and pops of blue.
