Astoria Cake Smash Photography
I arrived to the Astoria, Queens home of little Giovanni. He was turning 1 and it was time to capture this milestone with a classic cake smash. I have worked with his family prior for a maternity and newborn shoot. Mom had requested blues and greens similar to his newborn session as well as my colorful rainbow “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” banner. She ordered an ombre blue cake to match and dressed him in a pair of denim jeans. Like most babies his age, he was a bit timid and shy and reluctant to smile at the two crazy women in front of him singing, dancing and holding a large camera. We were able to capture a few smirks which was golden but I always adore those perfect stares. It is a time to capture the realness of the moment and that is what we did. When it was time for the cake, Gio went head first and I truly meant that. Scroll down and take a look for yourself!
