Brooklyn Newborn Photographer | Mia

Brooklyn Newborn Photographer

It was my second time to the Sheepshead bay, Brooklyn home of Julia and her family. I was now getting to meet her precious bundle Mia. I was warmly welcomed by their dog Grizzly who I became friends with at the maternity session a few weeks prior. We had a bit of a late start due to Mia’s tummy. We gave her some gas drops and waited until she finally settled. Once we saw those eyes close we ran through the sets to ensure we could grab as many variations as possible before she was woken up again. We started with wrapping her for family shots where we had some major eye contact. This is typically unusual with babies this age because their eyes do not focus until about a month old however Mia was staring right at us. We then moved onto the potato sack pose on the flokati as well as posing her in my wooden bed while she was still wrapped. After unwrapping her we moved onto the bean bag to grab some naked poses including my favorite from the session- froggy! Mia was a rainbow baby so I wanted to do something extra special for her family and I used a rainbow headband that I had purchased for this exact moment. The image was later featured on The Bump during a rainbow segment. We ended the session with an additional two props which also included Grizzly.
