Brooklyn Newborn Photography
I met baby Ian on a Tuesday in June. Summer was starting to kick into full gear which only meant it would be getting a lot warmer indoors shooting a session. After having a string of smaller to mid sized babies I was handed an almost 9lb baby boy. These chunky ones always have the best rolls and it’s so fun to photograph them in certain poses. His mom requested blues and greens with a tad bit of neutral. We shot all the colors and Ian was perfect on all of it. We started on the green drop followed by the blue drop. Getting through the beanbag poses in no time we were off to the two props shots. I had been dying to use the wooden bed prop my uncle made me and I knew this would be the best time to try it out on a newborn. It had seen so much action already with my sitters but it was time to make it shine for a newborns. After the bed, we ended with a small wire basket where we wrapped him to grab a few macro shots of his toes and facial features. A session isn’t complete until you take the family shots. Along with pics of mom & dad we were able to get a shot with Ian’s two older brothers who were 2 and 3 years old. This was done with loads of bribery, pinning to the ground by their parents and the horrific tone of my singing voice. But all the essentials of nailing the perfect picture!
