Staten Island Cake Smash
It’s always so nice to grow with a family and create a relationship with them. I have been working with Liliana’s family since her mom’s maternity session. I’ve watched her grow into a fast running and crawling little lady. She had super speed at her one year session that my assistant and I were definitely sweating as a result. It’s always entertaining at a 1st birthday shoot because the babies are filled with so much personality you just never know what to expect. On this particular day, Liliana was not thrilled with our idea on a photoshoto. She had her own plan and we were not apart of it. We did grab some shots prior to the arrival of the cake. One of my favorite images from the gallery was of her sitting in a vintage bowl I bought at the brimfield Flea Market a few months ago. I have been dying to use it and this was the perfect time. Since her mom is a fan of the color purple and her newborn shoot consisted of purple it was only right she had a a purple themed cake smash. The gorgeous cake was made by Staten Island home baker Joanne of ‘Jojo Cakes.” She always makes the best looking and of course tasting cakes. It’s a shame they must be smashed sometimes. Liliana wasn’t quite sure if she liked or disliked the cake but she sure did make a super mess of it. Can’t wait to see her again in a few months for her holiday pics.
